All smiled brightly for the team photo, then had a great game in the sunshine. The opposition was a bit short on numbers, but our humble boys put up their hands to play for them and they had a great game! Our man of the match was Tyson peel who had a fantastic game.

After a slow start to the first half, the guys gained a foothold in the game and scored a couple of tries in response to the fast starting Rockingham side. The second half featured a huge improvement in fortune and the side were rewarded with some great tries after putting in some solid tackles. Great effort all round and we look forward to the last 2 rounds

At home this round and our boys showed their team pride - what an excellent game and excellent effort by every single player one the day! This game had all of our boys showing their skills and team spirit. The Lions came out ready to play and they certainly did this the entire game seeing moments of individuals shining but also some excellent, well thought out team work which ultimately allowed the boys a convincing win. Again this week I could mention many of the boys for their great efforts however on the day the Encouragement Award went to George Williamson for his excellent running (coring a try from his run down the entire field) but also his consistent team support - keep it up George. Man of the Match went to Zhai Bassett as he is a player that always displays great sportsmanship and supports his team.

Again excellent game boys.

Today was our home game down at Success Sports Complex.
We played one of our hardest games today against an outstanding opposition, Palmyra White.
At half time the boys were only just behind by 3 points. The second half our boys stepped up to slowly recover but finally went down by 2 tries.
Our player of the day, Lochlan, dominated the scrum and won every opposition put-in. Great hooking today with lots of turnover ball, well done!

Last Saturday’s match against ARKS was a beauty. The boys started a little slow and were quickly down by 2 tries within the first 10 minutes. However, they got their act together and hit back with a lovely run down the left side by Harry Muir. ARKS scored one more try in the first half, but 2 more tries in the same half by fullback Kuewyn Minkley, who also set up the next try by Daniel Tuimoala saw them take the lead at half-time – 19-15. In the second half the boys were on the attack for most of the game and piled on 4 more tries. One of his usual barn-storming runs by Claudio Gouveia saw him score between the sticks, one beauty by Tony Raoren off the restart and two more by Marcus Arrindell who sliced them up through the middle. The final score was 43-15. There were 7 tries and 4 conversions (Liam McKinnon 2, Marcus Arrindell 2). It was an all-round team effort with the forwards doing the job up front and the backs moving the ball around nicely. Men of the match were: Liam McKinnon for his superb distribution of the ball as fly-half and Matias Codorniu for his great work in the scrums and tackling. Tackle of the season probably has to go to Matias for this game.

Southern Lions 45 Joondalup 0

Very much a one-sided game, the team stuck to their game plan.
Credit must be given to Joondalup for their sportsmanship and never-give-up attitude.
Players of the day were Brody Eastwood, who has developed a ball stealing technique which is awesome, and Michael Ashworth who made some blistering hit ups.
Well done to the whole team and a special thanks to the Morrison Family for our new drink bottles.
