"We scored 7 tries in a promising performance to start the season.
Endeavoring this season to play an up tempo game, there were flashes in the match where the boys displayed this and players were able to offload the ball to their supporting team mates allowing play to continue well in behind Rockinghams defence. From such plays the boys were patient enough to turn these opportunities into points.The whole side complimented each other well with all players having there moments.

Player of the day Beau Cassidy produced his best performance in Southern Lions colours and was dangerous every time he received the ball. New recruit prop Daniel Lee performed well and was supported up front by Scott Turnbull who also showed good early season form.

It is only the 1st game and it is important we continue to work hard and look to improve our performance on a weekly basis. All teams will get better and we to must challenge ourselves to strive for performances that we are proud of."
