Southern Lions travelled to Perth Irish RUFC looking to continue their great start to the season.
Southern Lions proved too strong for Perth Irish similar to the Rd 3 clash and they dominated proceedings.
Perth Irish worked hard throughout and put Lions under pressure for a time scoring three tries.
Southern Lions looked to play a wide game from all parts of the field and the result was some excellent scores from our wide players.
Southern Lions won 52-19, scoring 10 tries with 1 successful conversions to 3 tries & 2 conversions.
Southern Lions coach Brett Fell provided the following summary of the game -
"6 from 6 and moving in the right direction was the outcome for the Senior 1st side last Saturday. Playing Perth Irish for the 2nd time the team came out convincing winners 52-19. Attempting to play a wide game with more attacking options, the boys showed glimpses of what they can do by scoring some long range tries. Man of the match Joel Lamatoa bagged a hat trick while captain Greg Jackson bagged 4 and Dan Cassidy 2. Throughout the match, they showed a desire to move the ball around and if they can show more patience, react to situations quicker and get there decision making more accurate some real improvement and entertaining rugby could be on the way. Again, focus needs to go on restricting our penalties where players need to show more trust in the team systems and adapt to the referee in charge. Still a long way to go but with hard work the boys can only get better."
Congratulations to the coach and players on continuing the great start to the season.
