Strong win for a depleted side

The U16 Blues continued their strong start to the season with a convincing win over Joondalup despite having several players sidelined with injuries.

The Blues opened the scoring early with a try at 6 minutes to the captain Jackson Harvey-Bridges. The game was evenly balanced in the first half, but the Blues looked to be the more confident and well drilled side, seldom losing the ball in a turnover. A second try at 21 minutes to Sean Erasmus was converted by Alex Tuvik, and was answered by Joondalup 5 minutes later. Score at half-time 12 to 5 in favour of the Blues.

The Blues kept the momentum in the second half holding Joondalup scoreless and putting on two more tries (Declan Pegum and a second to Sean Erasmus). Alex Tuvik kicked a penalty close to full time. Final score Lions 25 Joondalup 5.
