In a match that was always going to put the 15 red team under pressure the solid attack from Wests was relentless in the first few minutes of the game. Strong attack from Wests and finding us lacking in defence let them in to score the first try. Our first solid hitout for the year against a well organised and structured side showed us where we can do some work at training and where we need to be at match time.
Back from injury Ryan enjoyed a solid game at wing and would have enjoyed the ball back in his hands, Craig as an emergency sub did a great job coming off the bench when we suffered an injury to Storm. Welcome back Craig. The big fella Jaeden had his first match at run on and lasted longer then he thought he would.
With the opposition consistently in our face Adam not only handled the 10 role well but kept his strong defence up for the whole match. A noticeable lift in workrate and intensity from Jack Stanton helped the team in the 2nd half, when he came off the bench, this effort no doubt had an effect on the final score. Matty played well in attack but it was his efforts in chasing the man and defence that earned him Man of the Match.
