Team Structure from the first whistle was the key to this win.

One week with no Rugby must have been the incentive to see the red team hungry to dominate and play some rugby.

From the kick off we held our structure, played team moves and supported each other right to the fulltime whistle. Thursdays night’s session on the scrum machine was pivotal in providing a platform for the backs to show their stuff.

With a plethora of tries from everywhere the Reds maintained structure, some discipline issues early gave away the run of play but the ball was constantly retrieved as our opposition decided to run at us in zone 1.

As has been the case now for the last three weeks it is hard to pick on individual efforts however today Jaeden had a standout game, awarded man of the match today but not only from a game where he turned their number 1 inside out in the scrum he had a day out with the ball, well played Jaeden.

As evidence to what an outstanding team effort it was 12 tries were scored 3 in the forwards and 9 in the backs, Ryan scoring three of those at wing has this team constantly moving the ball wide to open up the opposition.

Once again short on the bench the team thanks Micah from the Blues for playing today.

Tries 12 – Ryan 3, Alex 2, Storm 1, Shane 1, Jaeden 1, Jordan 1, Chad 1, Cam 1, Craig 1.

Conversions 10 – Alex 10.

Man of the Match – Jaeden

Score – Southern Lions 80 defeated Joondalup 0.
