Southern Lions 0 v Joondalup Blue 52
Today was our first game after being promoted to Gold. We knew every game from now on was really going to test us, but we thought we were ready for a challenge.

Not making excuses, but we started the game missing Brody, James C and Josiah who are regular starters. We also had Max recovering from Tonsillitis and Trey barely breathing with a bad chest infection/flu!
OK, excuses now over, we started pretty well, holding the opposition scoreless for about 6 minutes. Then came the barrage of Try’s, Conversions and Missed Tackles! The boys were not accountable for their direct opponents, and the forwards were slow to back up their team mates.
Some positives out of the game were Eli’s running and tackling, he had a brilliant game. Isaiah again played well and Ella and Chad tried hard in the Backline. We finished the game heads down losing 52 to Nil.
We can only improve from here, get back to training, remember what Doug has taught us, be accountable in defence and most of all remember to back up your team mate, don’t rely on him doing the work for you!
