Hungry for the win, the Lions went in positive with some outstanding work load from the forwards – with special mention of the effort put in by Luke Napier and Tim Finlay. With Rockingham on their back foot scrambling in defence, the Lions backs took advantage and scored 2 tries in the first 10 minutes. Rockingham hit back scoring a converted try in the dying minutes of the first half.

Fired up, the Lions came out strong in the second half. We saw excellent support play between the Lions forwards and backs which scored them a try in the first 3 minutes. Rockingham replied scoring a try not long after. The Lions forwards were relentless and continued to work hard, smashing Rockingham’s defence. This caused desperate play by Rockingham resulting in them making some mistakes which the Lions capitalised on and kicked 2 penalties.

Rockingham fought back to score another converted try closing the Lions lead. The Lions managed to get some clean ball out to their backs, who were looking dangerous, and scored another try. Rockingham managed the last try of the game however the Lions efforts had paid off and they held on for the win.
