Southern Lions made the trip to play Arks RUFC in the Round 6 Champ B match.
Southern Lions were looking for their second win of the season. The B2s have been building confidence and accuracy to date and went to Arks confident of a victory.

Southern Lions coach Ashley Peel provided the following summary of the game -

"Southern Lions met ARKS for the second time this season.
The Lions had something to prove after being beaten by ARKS in Round 1.
Although Southern Lions looked strong in the first half, ARKS were the only scoring team and held the lead 10 v 0 at half time.
Going into the second half the Lions showed their true form, keeping their heads and being disciplined, they continued to stick with their game plan.
With Mark Carmichael showing his experience with excellent form on his boot, the forwards won the line-outs against the throw, allowing the Lions good field placement for attack. The Lions capitalised on this and scored the first try of the second half. Giving the Lions momentum a second converted try was scored soon after.
With ARKS still in the game, they managed another try to keep their hopes alive. The Lions determination shone through and they scored the next two tries crushing any hope of ARKS winning.

Final score Lions 24 vs ARKS 15.

Player of the day went to Andy Hunt again for his 3 tries, outstanding defence and work load."
