Bob was one of the founder members of Southern Lions RUFC.

In 1987 Bob Brown and Kingsley Bailey created the Fremantle-Leeming RUFC and took the colours of the original Fremantle Rugby Union Club.

The club was first housed in Bob's garage in Findlay Rd Leeming.
